And speaking of sizes: Being a PC game, Anno 1404 Knigsedition of course will be playable on 16:9 formatted widescreen monitors. However, since the PC doesn’t support anamorphic outputs (like the consoles do), there will be limited options for players wishing to play Anno in a full 4:3 aspect ratio.
However, there will be a special filter which comes with this update designed to simulate anamorphic output without the need of an anamorphic monitor. The intention behind this is that this will be an easy option for those players who want to play Anno in a 16:9 aspect ratio on their widescreen monitors.
All in all, we hope that the Anno 1602 History Edition will delight both longtime players and new Anno fans with its new additions and gorgeous improvements to the game. We hope that the new challenge and fresh gameplay content of Season 3 Pass will inspire the fan base to reach greater heights of greatness in our city-building survival series. And please rest assured that if we ever see that you are having trouble with playing the game, we will be more than happy to assist you with any technical issues. We hope to see you all at an early date for Anno 1701!
While we’re on the topic of anamorphic resolutions: It is important to note that you can only play this update of Anno 1602 as a 16:9 game. If you have a TV with a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio, you can play this game properly. However, you will not be able to play Anno as a full 4:3 game on such a TV as the PC graphics will not stretch perfectly.
Finally, we want to remind you that we will start regularly updating the game patch-notes in the near future, so that you will always be able to find all the latest patch-notes and information available from us in the same place. Of course, we will of course do our best to keep the notes as minimal as possible, but we will not be able to do all the different things that we want without you providing input and feedback. Therefore, as a special gift to players of Anno 1602, we’d like to encourage you to sign up and vote for the new feedback tracking system , to allow us to finally provide more direct communication to our players. 3d9ccd7d82
